Mr El Dafaa stressed on the ESCWA's Mission:
1. The mission of Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) is represented by lending hand to help Arab World Countries and to encourage them to adopt cooperation and social and economic integration. It is to be noted that the services offered by ESCWA to its member-countries vary between technical consultations, sectoral studies, operational activities and projects.
2. Hence, ESCWA endeavors to organize high specialty conferences, workshops and building capacities’ program tackling numerous fields and gathering the representatives of member-countries and regional organizations. Furthermore, ESCWA seeks, according to its agreement, to create a favorable environment to exchanging ideas and expertise in order to contribute efficiently in the social and economic services offered to our communities.

RIR UN-ESCWA Dr. Jazzar reminded the Rotary partnertship with United Nations since the early years of the UN. He announced the Panel organized in Cannes- France on the 28 March 2008 under the Theme Conference : "Peace is Possible"

A "Peace Session" will be included into the District 2450's Conference held in Beirut between 1st and 4th May 2008.
